We all need Jesus because of the following;

  • no matter how “good” a life we may lead, all of us have sinned at some point in time, i.e. failed to live up to God’s standard (Romans 3:23)
  • one day, we will all stand before God in judgement (2 Corinthians 5:10)
  • the penalty for un-forgiven sin is death – separation from God (Romans 6:23)

But God loves us and doesn’t want anyone to be lost (2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, He sent Jesus who died to pay the penalty for our sins so that we could have forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7). Jesus then rose from the dead, demonstrating God’s power over Satan and death (Acts 17:30-31;  Hebrews 2:14-15). It is only through Jesus that we can be saved (John 14:6;  Acts 4:10-12). It is now up to us to respond to God’s love and obey His plan of salvation;

  • Hear the gospel of Christ  (Romans 10:14, 17)
  • Believe that Jesus is the Son of God  (Mark 16:16;  John 8:24)
  • Repent of sins  (Luke 13:3;  Acts 2:38)
  • Confess your belief in Christ to others  (Matthew 10:32, 33; Romans 10:10)
  • Be immersed in the waters of baptism  (Acts 22:16; Galatians 3:27; 1 Peter 3:21)

 Those who obey are saved and added to the Lord’s church – they are no longer condemned (Acts 2:47;  Romans 8:1), and if we continue to live faithfully to God, we will be granted eternal life in Heaven (Matthew 25:34)
